Create a little beauty and your joy will be a gift to the world. How do you create beauty around you, and your home?
Just peeking in on you to say hello. I leave for Atlanta next week and have promised some sketches for a new holiday collection and a new every day collection, so must have something ready to show next week at market. Creating Christmas in July is always a challenge and these concepts are for 2012 (with 2011 products all wrapped up and in to production already).
With summer in full swing, I find myself even more challenged with being a working mom and feeling guilty at not having undefined, unallocated time on my hands. It's a constant challenge (more for me and my guilt - than for my daughters) being a working mom. Is it for you, if you're a working mom? It's summer time and so many women are traveling with their families, going to the beach, on day trips, and just enjoying some frivolity. I read, with great comfort this post from Brene Brown. I think (I know) I like this girl. More on this, and other good topics soon.
Among the many things I give my daughters, I know I give them my presence as much as I am able, and we have come to so look forward to our girls' night where we unplug from work, technology, TV, and focus 100% on each other. It may be a constant balancing act, but I do my best to make it work for us, because this is our life, and I value who they are, who they become, and I value what I do for work. I am abundantly blessed and oh so grateful for it all.
We have some really sweet things to show & share in our next post . . .think French pastries. Oh to be sitting in an outdoor cafe in Paris, sipping wine and eating a chocolate croissant. emmmmmm.
Til then, may miracles bloom in your garden.
xoxo

Terri - I hear you on the challenge of being a working mom. Being a working gram is pretty much the same challenge. Today I will be spending time playing games and conducting activities with three of my grandchildren. Today, the eve of the Atlanta trip and I'm going to be playing games? And ironing, ha ha. Investing our time in the ones we love, can't beat it, eh? Can't wait to meet you Terri, see you soon.

My wife will actually love this kind of art, she can share it with my daughters.
