Vintage White - Bliss & Beauty

I've been feeling, and expressing some creative abundance these past few weeks. There is so much more required of a creative biz than simply creating, so when this flow of inspiration arrives, I personally feel like I'm floating in a smooth running river on a warm sunny day. I want to lay my open arms to the sun and ride with the current, giving thanks for each and every moment.

Given my attention to my creative abundance, I am still trying to pull together my home office and studio space in what little spare time that comes between the creative abundance and blessed motherhood to two teen daughters - virtually none, I suppose this is why these spaces wait, and wait.

I'm drawing inspiration from so many sources, but especially loving the sweet, yet sophisticated serenity of  . . .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would want a real kitty (one of these) perched here . . .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a place of comfort to gather with family, and soul sisters . . .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

delicious, isn't it ?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would definately want a touch of my art (above) to grace the walls . . .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would sit in these chairs with a friend, or my daughters and perhaps never get up! Just sit, and while the day away pondering possibilities. . .wouldn't that be wonderful?

some day -

however, for right now

in this moment

I am so grateful for what is -

    a bit of a messy house, unfinished studio and office space, but a family filled with love, two beautiful daughters, a wonderful husband, soul-sisters (one of whom I am having lunch with today) and a very healthy creative biz supported by a talented team - and YOU!

Where Women Create, and Want to Create

hope your finding some quiet time to seek and create a little beauty in your life today.

I found myself needing to turn off the "work" button, momentarily set aside a Christmas collection I'm working on, and create for the fun of it, straight from the heart, no plan, no purpose, just let it flow. I was delighted with the ease it poured out of me. I hereby declare: Play shall be at least a small part of everyone's week!  How I'd love to show you a peek, but . . .I loved the pieces so much, I sent them  to my agency already with the hope the art will be licensed for gift product. I'll keep you posted.

The birth of a product line is genuinely a labor of love, and it all begins in the artist's creative space, both internally and where they create.

I've been on the hunt for the current issues of Studios and Where Women Create (I just LOVE those magazines!) well, because I enjoy seeing where other women create

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and truth be told, I think I'm outgrowing my space

 

 

 

 

 

 

and dreaming of  something along the lines of this. . . .

plastered walls bathed in white, pine wood floors, open duct work, windows, lots and lots of windows with lots and lots of sunlight

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a special spot for my girls to play, do home-work and yes, create - this brick wall is a must by the way

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and a fainting couch or two would be nice - we all have a little drama in us

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

simply divine, aren't they?

Of course, fresh flowers would regularly fill this creative space with fragrance

Oh, to dream -

heaven above, please, pretty pretty please may I have a studio that looks like this?

My daughter just came in (I swear I am NOT making this up!) and asked, can we play with some art supplies?

Celebrating you!

Today is my birthday.

My dear friend and  one of my soul-sisters, Lesa, sent me a card that reads:

 

Celebrating You!

You were created by an awesome God, with individual style and a unique purpose. He put together a combination of gifts that belong to you alone - to glorify Him in a way that only you can.

These words are so precious to my soul and are at the heart of who, and what Terri Conrad Designs is all about.

I sometimes (emmm, honestly, a bit far more often than that) find myself comparing myself to others - to their journey, to their gifts, to their creative talents, and/or to their business acuumen & accomplishments. Do you do this too?

 

When I do this, it never fails to leave me feeling less than. Intellectually, I know better. I know we are each unique. We each have a unique beauty and a beloved spirit. No one else can tell, nor creatively express my story because it is mine to tell and to creatively express and in doing so glorify God in a way that only I can.

The same is, of course, true for you.

So today, on my birthday, my gift to you-

is to encourage you to celebrate YOU, your individual style, your unique purpose, your story, your journey and the many gifts God has bestowed upon you, and has yet to give to you!
