Rest and be thankful - the time is NOW!
Hello all,
"Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend." Theophrastus (372 BC - 287 BC),
Anne Marie at Rest and be Thankful visited my blog, so I reciprocated by popping in to hers. Her blog name was compelling enough. Then I found her quote for the day: "Life is now ... this day, this hour." Charles Flanders. How easily we can fret over time lost, time spent, not enough time . . .time is a precious thing we cannot stop, nor keep, nor squander. Personally, I fret over not having enough time. How about you?
My time, of late, has been called upon for a myriad of things. Since my last post, I have spent my time everywhere from the E.R. with my husband (he's alright) to a trip to Tennessee for some business planning with my agent, Courtney Davis, Inc., to finally having a moment to design a prettly little something...
Two friends, two birthdays, and a little personal touch to a topiary representing the seeds of friendship growing, vining in and around the events of life.
These were so fun to make - a little modge podge, 1" wide flat paint brush and a lotta water and a big basin - oh and my pretty Feather Your Nest, Rasberry Truffle, and Classical Garden papers (visit Webster's Pages to purchase paper). The birdie die cut is Accu Cut). I wish I had a studio full of dies from them - and of course a grande mark too. The tag is a TCD custom design.
I discovered there is definately an art to decoupage. It's sure fun playing with the sticky gooey medium tho.
Would you just love to buy pots that look just like this? They're happy I think - at least they make me happy when I look at them. I hope they make you happy too.
One more little pretty:
Just in time for Mother's Day. This wood frame shows my favorite Feather Your Nest pattern and a TCD custom designed quote card nestled inside. Maybe I will offer this as a kit, with a little bit of ribbon, and . . .? What do you think, shall I?
I am long overdue in selecting a posted comment to give away my Rasberry Truffle paper collection, and the little birdie die cut shown above . . .round & round she goes and where she stops . . .nobody knows
ELAINE at "a place for ink" you are the winner! Ta Da!
Congratulations! Send me an email with your address and I will send out a package of my Rasberry Truffle paper and the little birdie die cut.
How I would love to spend more time here with each of you - I must tend to daughter who is home sick (I think she's avoiding something more than she may be truly sick!), pick up hubby from a medical procedure, oh and laundry, grocery store - and fit in some work time in there somewhere - I do have lots to prepare for - National Stationery Show, Surtex licensing, and new collections for the summer CHA show.
I shall heed the oft said comment I tell my girls, "do what you can with what you have when you have it, and do your best." So, I will practice grace with myself and trust that some days I have more time, and can accomplish more; other days, well, I just need to do my best!
Hugs to you all -
Love Terri
